Resit combines his 20 year experience in construction with his background in economics to create value for home buyers.  A native of Istanbul, Resit got his initial grounding in preservation and restoration of centuries of structures. As Resit explains it, “in most districts of Istanbul, a 100 year old building is an 'upstart.' It has to earn respect by standing around for another couple of centuries. Compared to historic restoration in Istanbul, modern day construction is like playing with play dough. I can mold it and shape it as I can dream of it.”

 

Since moving to Washington DC area in 2001, Resit worked with reputable builders including Dilan Investments and Sterling Custom Homes. In 2013, Resit started AR Custom Builders, to develop properties in challenging urban settings. He renovated a multifamily building at 1952 Calvert Street. The investors that purchased the property could not have been happier: “Resit fought for every square inch. No nook went untouched. He practically lived in the building for a month, coming up with improvements day after day.”

 

Resit loves problem solving and never rests until the best solution is achieved. In the 4303 Elm Street project, Resit started with a challenging terrain, but managed to open up the back of the house into a double deck with custom railings. Every detail of a project managed by Resit is scrutinized, planned and executed with pride.
